 UPDATE
Citrix cluster will be retired Spring 2007. The new Sun Global Desktop infrastructure is its new replacement and is very cool actually.

One caveat: if you have a colorized prompt string (unix shell), then SGD
will just hang when you log in, so you have to remove that (don't ask
me, I just work here :))
To add printers to your Desktop, go directly to step #6 below. This page will be updated when testing for new Desktop infrastructure is complete.

1- Download the Citrix client from http://www.citrix.com, I got my copy from link

2- Install the Citrix client, no root access needed.

3- Start the Citrix ICA Client for Linux (wfcmgr)

4- Add a new connection by clicking Connection-> New then follow these steps:

  Network settings
  Network Protocol: TCP/IP
  Server Location: citrix.cc.gatech.edu
  Published Application: Desktop
  Connection settings
  Encryption Level: RC5 (128 bit)

  Login settings
Username: enter the CoC id you use to login to windows (most likely it is the same as your unix ID)
  DOMAIN: CC
password: enter your NT password, if you don't know it, simply login to unix and reset it using ntpasswd
  Window settings
  Window colors: 18 million
Window size: Percentage of full screen (choose whichever you like more!)

5- You are now ready to use the Windows desktop, simply double click on the entry you created above to start the desktop

6- While at it, setup your printers now! From the desktop click Start->Run, then enter the following:

  For printer moe:
  \\madison\moe
  For seawind:
  \\hgprint\seawind
you will be asked for a login, use hg\<user name> and use your HG domain password.
If you don't know your HG domain password walk to the CoC help desk to get it reset.

7- You unix home directory is mounted under windows. It is available as drive letter H: (or Z: or S: it keeps moving around!)
