StampedeRT

Overview

StampedeRT is a system providing systems-level support for distributed programming and higher-level applications dealing with intelligent analysis of streaming data (media, feature streams and sensor streams). StampedeRT focuses on how to provide effective and natural programming abstractions for a range of live streaming applications. As such, it is a middleware designed to provide a programming model appropriate for the development of applications which require pervasive access to multiple streaming data sources for distributed online analysis. StampedeRT is a distributed communication/transport mechanism which deals with temporal and synchronization issues inherent in stream-based computation. It evolved out of my experiences with Stampede and D-Stampede. The goal is to facilitate applications for robotics (such as LAGR), medical imaging, vision-based surveillance, and other domains that feature computationally intensive analysis of continuous data from sensors.
